Founded in 1993 by Kathleen Pakkebier, Portable Computer Systems is a computer reseller company with an expertise in mobile data applications and wireless products for in-vehicle use.  Kathy is the President of PCS.

From its inception in July 1993, PCS grew out of the need for an IT company to focus on wireless products and address their many unique aspects and concerns.

The PCS product line is relatively small, but unbelievably strong in quality, reputation, and competitive prices.  From a total fleet installation and implementation with high speed “hot spots”, to a single user requiring the use of high-speed wireless modems, PCS’ trained professionals help guide you to the correct product to do the job.

PCS’ sales team focuses on solutions and customer support.  The PCS professional staff comprises a strong blend of technology, marketing and sales professionals.  The PCS team will assist you with the information gathering process which includes: identifying the need; demonstrating the product in your vehicle, selecting the proper hardware and wireless solutions, site surveys, installing the entire project, project management, and more.

The PCS technical team can provide extensive on-site services such as disk imaging, asset tracking, managed “hot spares”, on-site technical training, wireless site surveys, GPS and AVL solutions, system design and prototyping and third party middleware software.

The PCS installation team provides the total installation of the project, including any or all of the components needed to make a mobile data vehicle solution successful.
